Central Missouri Gets Revenge, Defeats Minnesota State in First Round of DII Soccer Playoffs

The Central Missouri Jennies would avenge its loss earlier in the season over the Minnesota State Mavericks, defeating the Mavericks 2-0 Friday afternoon in the first round of the Division II women’s soccer playoffs.

Pierre’s Mack Rath would make three saves on five shots as the season ends for the Mavericks as they finish at 11-4-5 on the year. Minnesota State could only muster four shots against the Jennies. It wouldn’t be until the 63rd minute before Central Missouri would get on the board, the third on target shot of the match. The Jennies would add on to the lead in the 80th minute going up 2-0 and putting the match out of reach. It was only the second time all season Rath and the Mavericks had allowed two goals in a match.

Rath finishes her fifth year at Minnesota State making 247 saves with a ,879 save percentage. Rath has 41 wins and 36 shutouts in her career at Minnesota State.
