Pierre’s Rath, Minnesota State Receives Four Seed in Central Region of DII Playoffs

Monday evening, the Minnesota State Mavericks would find out its fate heading into the Division II soccer playoffs. The Mavericks would receive the fourth seed in the Central Region.

Minnesota State will face Central Missouri in the first round of the DII playoffs at home. It’s the second matchup of the season with the Jennies after the Mavericks shutout Central Missouri 1-0 back on September 8. Pierre’s Mackenzie Rath recorded a three save shutout, one of 15 shutouts on the year.

Rath is wanting to continue to be a wall between the pipes as the goalkeeper would take home her second consecutive NSIC goalkeeper of the year award. Rath would have a remarkable .937 save percentage allowing only five goals on 74 shots. Rath has only allowed two goals just once in her senior campaign. Rath has helped the Mavericks to an 11-3-5 record on the season.

The first round of the playoffs will be played on Friday for Minnesota State in Mankato with a 3:00 kickoff. With a win, the Mavericks will play again on Sunday in the second round.
