Pierre City Commission To Meet Tonight

PIERRE. (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting will start in special business with a special recognition of the Pierre Governor football team for winning it’s seventh straight state championship. Commissioners will consider approval of a seven-item consent calendar. The calendar includes minutes, claims, a promotion in the library, two fire fighter applications and two raffle requests. A public hearing is scheduled for 5:45 pm for a temporary wine license for the Historic Pierre Street Association’s Autumn Wine Walk. Three ordinances will have their second and final reading tonight. They include an ordinance that lays out Business Improvement District number three for the hotel portion of the Chapelle Investments property. The other two are for current ordinance revisions. One is a targeted change for sidewalks near the new Stencil Group apartments on Abby Road. The second is to raise the height for trees above sidewalks and roads. The Commission will also consider a request to surplus property. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
