Pierre High school along with Stanley County High School will be busy tonight with three total games to be played in part of the volleyball SoDak 16.
At Stanley County High School, the evening will get started with the Faith Lady Longhorns taking on the Gayville-Volin Raiders in the 3-14 matchup at 5:00. Faith is at 32-3 while Gayville-Volin is at 20-11. After that contest concludes, the six seed Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds will face the 11 seed Kadoka Area Kougars at 6:30. Wolsey-Wessington,at 28-4 is looking for a return trip to the state tournament while Kodaka Area, at 23-11 wants to be one of the upsets on Tuesday.
Over at Riggs High School, the eight seed Mobridge-Pollock will face the nine seed Wagner at 6:30 for a spot in the Class A state tournament. By seeds, this should be the best matchup in Class A tonight. The Lady Tigers defeated Stanley County to reach the SoDak 16 and at 26-7 will face the ninth seeded Wagner Red Raiders who are at 25-6. Wagner was the top seed in last year’s Class A state tournament but finished in seventh.
The winners of the three contests in the area will all advance to the state tournament starting next week Thursday in Rapid City.
