PIERRE. (KCCR) — Pheasants weren’t the only thing flying around Pierre Regional Airport in October. Plenty of pheasant hunters were likely behind October taking the title of best month of 2023 for enplanements at Pierre Regional Airport…
Commissioner Jamie Huizenga is the airport’s liaison to the Pierre City Commission. October’s 1,534 was 201 boardings higher than September at 1,333. October beat July’s 1,440 for the top month of the year by 92. Pierre October enplanements bested Watertown’s boardings by 142. Watertown however has had more enplanements in 2023 with 597 more than Pierre. Two flights a week from Pierre to Minneapolis begin in three weeks on November 30th.
