Full Agenda For Hughes County Commission Tonight

PIERRE. (KCCR) — A robust agenda greets the Hughes County Commission for it’s first meeting in November tonight. Commissioners will consider a health insurance plan, jail proposals and a contract with Triple-A Collections. The Commission will also consider approval of the purchase of a vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office, contingency transfers, some additions to new hire paperwork and employee breaks at the Hughes County Jail. In new business, the Commission will consider an intergovernmental contract for a worker’s compensation fund with the South Dakota Municipal League, a snow policy, personnel items and a presentation of two proposed bills by Steve Nelson and District 24 state Senator Jim Mehlhaff. The meeting will end with the presentation of reports by Commission liaisons, Auditor Thomas Oliva and County Manager Lori Jacobson. Two executive session items are also on the agenda.
