Philip to Host Deubrook in State Semifinals Vying for State Title Bid

The Philip Scotties are just one win away from its second trip ever to the Dakotadome as they host the Deubrook Area Dolphins.

The Scotties get the home game because the Dolphins upset the two seed, Alcester-Hudson 14-10 last Thursday. Philip improved to 10-0 with a 46-15 win over Chester on a cold night. It was just the second game that wasn’t a 40 point win or more for the Scotties. Philip, though, lost its second running back of the season last week as Ryker Peterson left the game with an apparent leg injury. The Scotties may have to lean on quarterback Lane Kuchenbecker to throw the ball a little more frequently. He is 51-76 for 1021 yards and has thrown for 21 touchdowns to one interception, so he is a proven passer.

Deubrook Area is at 7-3 with wins over Estelline/Hendricks and Alcester Hudson as the seven seed looks for a second straight upset to make it to its second ever appearance at the Dakotadome after winning it all in 2012.

DT Meyer will have the call of the game tonight with kickoff at 7:00 Central Time from Philip. Coverage will be on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports.
