Governors Hosts Watertown in 11AA Semifinals

Back on September 22, the Pierre Governors would host the Watertown Arrows in the homecoming game and win 49-20. Six weeks later, the two teams meet at Hollister Field again in the 11AA semifinals.

The game that night was played after a half an hour delay because of lightning and then had a downpour in the third quarter. This time, the two teams aren’t expecting the same kind of weather, but the Governors look for the same kind of result. Cade Kaiser threw for 351 yards and the team rushed for 119 yards on the night having its offense move the ball at will. Since the loss for the Arrows though, Watertown has won four of its last five including a 42-17 win over Aberdeen Central in the first round of the 11AA playoffs. Steve Steele, head coach of the Governors says he saw a physical offensive and defensive line in the win over the Golden Eagles…

Steele says this Pierre team is becoming more of a complete team each week…

Steele says Pierre has to win the line of scrimmage tonight…

The Governors and Arrows will have kickoff at 6:00 from Hollister Field in Pierre. Coverage begins at 5:30 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Blake Dean on the call.
