The Pierre Governors would try and hang tough, but the powerful Jefferson Cavaliers would beat the Govs in three sets 25-20, 25-14 and 25-12 on Tuesday night in Pierre.
Pierre would play a solid game, but the Cavaliers proved why they are in the top three in the state and are at 20-2 now on the season. Emory Brosnahan would have the match high 12 kills as Jefferson had 45 kills in total. Ella Kvernmo would finish with eight kills and three aces as Mya Hejl would for seven kills, an ace and two blocks. Seven different Cavaliers had multiple kills on the night. Pierre would be led by both Makayla Sherwood and Abigail Kropp each finishing with five kills.
Pierre finishes the regular season at 10-10 and will have to travel for the SoDak 16. The opponent and time will all be fully determined this weekend, but the SoDak 16 will be next week Thursday. Coverage will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
