Sully Buttes came out more aggressive against the Potter County Lady Battlers Monday night in Onida and earned their way to a 25-16, 25-17, 26-24 three set sweep to advance in Class 6B volleyball playoff action.
The Chargers had solid blocking from front line players Payge Bakker, Madison Bradberry, Scottlynn Kinney and Trichelle White to try to control the talented Kayden Cronin, and for the most part, it worked. Cronin still did finish with 11 kills on the night.
But Sully Buttes did a much more efficient job of back row passing and receiving, to get the ball forward for point shots. Trichelle White once again led in kills, with fellow senior Stevie Wittler close behind.
The Chargers now advance to play Thursday night against second seeded Herreid/Selby Area, who dispatched Ipswich 3-0.
Sully Buttes ups its record to 13-17, while Potter County ends the year at 8-23.
