Sully Buttes Tries for Fourth Win over Potter County with Region Tournament Beginning

For the fourth time this season rivals Sully Buttes and Potter County will hit the volleyball court, this time with the season on the line as the Chargers host the Battlers in the 3-6 matchup in the Region 6B Tournament.

The Chargers have won all three previous matches between the two going 7-1 combined in sets over the Battlers. The Chargers swept the Battlers both at the YTC Tournament in Getysburg in August and at the CSDC Tournament in Faulkton in September. The Chargers also won 3-1 over the Battlers at Sully Buttes days later in its only best-of-five set match. Now, the Battlers will have to overcome a team who beat them three times and the Chargers want to remain dominant over the Battlers this year. The Chargers finished the regular season at 12-17 and have lost seven of its last eight including the final three. Potter County finished the regular season at 8-22 and dropped its final match of the year to Leola/Frederick Area. The winner of tonight’s contest will most likely face the two seed Herreid/Selby Area on the road on Thursday. The Wolverines are facing the seventh seed Ipswich tonight.

DT Meyer will have coverage of the playoff run for the Chargers. Tonight’s contest will be on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with first serve at 7:00 from the gym in Onida.
