One Day Later, Pierre Football Begins Playoff Journey Looking for Seventh Straight State Title

The Pierre Governors will finally begin the playoffs tonight as the top overall seed in 11AA as the Govs are looking to win its record breaking seventh straight state title. Pierre hosts Spearfish in the first round.

After Thursday’s game was postponed, The Governors and Spartans will get to meet tonight. The two teams didn’t play during the regular season. The Governors, at 8-1, went 8-0 against 11AA teams this year. The Spartans would finish the year at 4-5 but went just 2-5 against 11AA schools with wins over Douglas and Brookings. The Spartans also lost its last four games of the year. Steve Steele, head coach of the Pierre Governors says there’s a number of factors which go into its losing streak…
