The Phillip Scotties will be at home once again as they host the Chester Flyers in the 9A quarterfinals looking for a spot in this year’s semifinals.
The Scotties would handle business in the first round of the playoffs as the three seed would route the 14 seed Timber Lake Panthers 52-0 in its sixth early victory of the season. The Scotties improved to 10-0 and have played just one game all season without the running clock, the first game of the year against the defending state champion, Wall Eagles.
Chester would pick up the upset last week Thursday with a 28-26 win over Wolsey-Wessington. The Flyers played in one of the best games of the week and are now 5-4 on the season, but had lost three of the last four games down the stretch before pulling off the upset. The Flyers are looking for a second straight upset to reach the 9A semifinals.
DT Meyer will be in Phillip tonight for the call of the game. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 Central, 5:00 Mountain with the game on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports.
