Sale Of Dakota Prairie Bank To First Fidelity Bank Of Burke Finalized

FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The purchase of Dakota Prairie Bank by First Fidelity Bank has been finalized by federal regulators. First Fidelity president and chief executive officer David Nelson says the transitioning of current Dakota Prairie locations into the First Fidelity family will take place through February of next year. Nelson says that should give current Dakota Prairie customers a chance to ask questions about the change. Dakota Prairie Bank has locations in Draper, Fort Pierre, Presho and White River. Those locations will remain open, but under the First Fidelity Bank name. No staffing changes are expected with the purchase. First Fidelity has branch locations in Burke, Bonesteel, Colome, Gregory, Murdo, Platte and Winner. Nelson says as the banks merge operations together customers can expect the same hometown service they always had, just with a new name on the door. Dakota Prairie Bank was chartered in 1906 as Draper State Bank. First Fidelity started as Bruke State Bank, . chartered in 1905.
