The Pierre Governor girls soccer team, who have qualified for the state quarterfinals the last two years, received three Governors on the All-ESD team along with another two receiving honors on All-State.
Ryann Barry and Aly Hutchinson both made All-ESD along with All-State as Barry made first team and Hutchinson an honorable mention. Jasmine Jost was also selected fro the All-Conference team.
Barry, a senior, finished her career second in assists in Pierre Governor soccer history, but finished her senior year with 14 goals and 17 assists, both the team high for the year. Her 17 assists ties a single season with Emily Mikkelsen from the 2017 season.
Hutchinson, a junior, was a key defender for the Governors. While finishing with a single goal on the season, Hutchinson’s main duty was to be the last line of defense for the Govs. The Governors had seven shutouts this season and Hutchinson along with the defense played a major role to keep chances down, even with Emelyn Swanson setting a school record in saves with 70.
Jost, who finished her sophomore campaign, garnered All-ESD recognition for her five goals and three assists. She’s got a motor that never turns off and is constantly moving without the ball. She’s a thorn in the side of a lot of teams in each game.
