PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota State Railroad Board heard presentations this week from many of the railroads that cross the state looking to take advantage of federal Special Transportation Circumstance or S-T-C grants. The Ringneck plan is over 10-point-eight million dollars with the railroad seeking eight-point-three million in S-T-C funding . Over 58-million dollars in S-T-C grant funds are available for South Dakota. The state gets access to the money because there is no commercial passenger train traffic in South Dakota.
