Region Cross Country Finishes as Area Runners, Teams Qualify for State

Wednesday afternoon, most every Region would run its race in both Class A and B to qualify for the state meet which will run on Saturday, October 21. The Top 20 runners from each region along with up to five runners from the top three teams qualify for the state meet.

Sully Buttes

The Chargers will send two runners to the Class B state meet. Jonas Olson would place 18th in the boys race with a time 19:42. Myli Weischedel finished in 20th place with a time of 25:28.

Stanley County

The Stanley County Buffaloes will also be sending two runners to the Class A state meet. Kaysen Magee in the girls race would place 13th at 21:40 while Spencer Sargent would be in 18th place at 18:57.

Potter County

The Potter County Battlers will be sending both teams to the Class B state meet. Dannika Kaup and Emma Schlachter would finish 1-2 in the girls race at 19:12 and 19:38 respectively. Jadyn Ahlemeier would be fourth, Paige Ahlemeier would be sixth and Jaycee Stevens eighth as all five members place inside the top ten. On the boys side Nicholas Schlachter would win the Region 4B run at 16:39 while Jared Chase would be 12th and Sep van Oosterhout 17th.

Highmore-Harrold

Both Highmore-Harrold teams will be at the Class B state meet next weekend as Autumn Fallis would be the highest scoring Pirate in third place while Jaylynn Knox and April Fallis would be 13th and 19th respectively. In the boys race Brooks McPeak and Jordan Erfman would finish at sixth and seventh while Carter Webb would be ninth as three Pirates finish inside the top ten.

Lyman

Three Lyman Raiders will travel next week to the Class B State meet with Mason Ryan and Aksel Ehlers placing 10th and 16th in the Region 4B boys race while Anne Brakke placed 18th to qualify from the girls race.

Miller

The Miller boys would qualify winning the team score of the Region 5A run while two girls will run individually for the Rustlers. Pierce Baumberger and Alex Schumacher would be 1-2 for the Rustlers at 16:44 and 16:52 in the boys run while Isaiah Gortmaker would be in sixth place at 17:52. Madeline Nye and Gabby Werdel both qualified individually placing 10th and 16th for the Rustlers.
