Use of lead pipe in structures after 1986 was banned and it goes beyond just homes…

Runyan says city crews encounter one to two lead service lines every year while replacing water main and doesn’t believe there are many left in the city. If a building has a lead serve line it’s the owner’s responsibility to replace it. Renters should do the test and give the results to their landlords. More information on the survey is being included in October City of Pierre utility bills.
