The Pierre Governor cheer and dance team is now down to just a couple of more competitions after the dance team placed sixth and the cheer would be seventh in Mitchell on Thursday.
Pierre would place third in the pom division scoring a 240 while placing fifth in the hip-hop division with a score of 233. Overall for the dance team it would round out to 236.5 just 1.5 points away from reaching fourth place. Yankton would place first overall for dance with a 282.5 score.
The Pierre cheer team would score a 193 placing seventh. The Govs were just 12 points shy of reaching the top five for the evening, but it was Harrisburg scoring a 273.5 overall to take home first place.
