PIERRE, (KCCR) — The City of Pierre is working with a local auto dealer to set up a charging station for electric vehicles at their dealership. Staff Engineer Caleb Huizenga says Wegner Auto is seeking an easement agreement from the city to set up the charging station…
Wegner Auto vice president Bryan Boocock says they are looking to install a Level Three fast charger to their property adjacent to an alley right-of-way with the city parallel to Rapid City Pierre and Eastern railroad tracks…
Boocock says the agreement works for both the city and the dealership…
Boocock didn’t say when the charging station would be installed and operational. The easement area is a 15-foot by 30-foot section along the alley right-of-way. According to a photo presented to the Pierre City Commission this week, the proposed location of the charging station is between the body shop and sales office just south of the railroad tracks.
