Governors Best Team in Day Two, Finish Third at State

The Pierre Governors had the best day of any team on Tuesday and would jump up three spots finishing third while Nick Bothun and Luke Olson would finish in the top ten.

Bothun would finish the second day shooting a 69, a total of 148, six over par to be tied for eighth place. Olson, just a shot behind him at 149 would place tenth. Lincoln Houska would be tied for 11th at 150 as all three reach all-state status. Sawyer Sonnenschein would have a 153 to round of the Governor four scores while Jack Bartlett would be at 163 and Charlie Simpson at 164. Watertown’s Jake Olson of Watertown would finish seven under par through the two day tournament, six shots better than second place to win the individual state championship.

While Watertown would win the team state title, the Governors would shoot a 289, three shots better than the Arrows on the second day for the team win in day two. Pierre would finish in third place shooting an even 600 while the Arrows would be at 578 overall to claim the team state championship.
