Governors Fight Off Scrappy Rapid City Christian Squad for Five Set Win

The Pierre Governor volleyball team would find itself in its third five set match in its last four games, but has now won all three with a victory in Rapid City over the Rapid City Christian Lady Comets.

For the second straight match the Governors would lead 2-0 and have to finish off the win in five sets. They would win on Tuesday 25-22, 25-15, 19-25, 24-26 and 15-10. It’s a win which will give the Governors 50 seed points to help their average and as the Lady Comets fall to 19-5, it’s certainly one which will be a big factor at the end of the season. Campbell Boddicker would lead the team in kills with 11 and added six aces for the win and Reese Terwilliger added eight.

Pierre improves to 8-2 and the busy week continues for the Govs as they face the Watertown Arrows on Thursday. Coverage will begin at 6:30 with first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
