Governor Boys with Big Tie, Girls Shutout Yankton

The Pierre Governors would get solid results on Tuesday at home with the Pierre boys drawing a scoreless tie with the Yankton Bucks while the girls would shutout the Gazelles 6-0.

Haley Fabel would record his second shutout of the season as the Pierre boys would get a much needed tie against a good team. Yankton is now at 7-2-2 while the Govs move to 3-4-3. It’s only the second time the Govs have been held without a goal so far this year.

The Governor girls would win 6-0 in a dominating performance. Bria Sargent would get the first goal of the match and the fourth goal as Natalie Flottmeyer would score the second and third goals of the game for Pierre. Devyn Van Roekel would score the fifth goal and Lexie Hilmer the sixth for the Govs as Emlyn Swanson would record her sixth shutout of the season in just 10 games this year. Pierre is now 6-3-1.

The Governors will face the Jefferson Cavaliers on Saturday with the girls playing first at 1:00 and the boys at 3:00 at the PILC Fields.
