Cheer Eighth, Dance Fifth in Huron

The Pierre Governor cheer and dance team would compete in Huron on Tuesday with the cheer team placing eighth and the dance team in fifth.

The Governor cheer team would score a 192 on the day, five points back of seventh place Huron. The Brookings Bobcats would win the event with a score of 266.5. O’Gorman would be second at 256 and Watertown third with a score of 226.

The Governor dance team would compete in both the hip-hop and pom divisions. In the hip-hop, the Govs would place fourth at 251 while being in fifth place in pom division scoring a total of 240.5. The scores would average out to be at 245.75 under three points from fourth place passing Aberdeen Central. The Yankton Gazelles would score a 268.25 to be the grand champion of the day.
