PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Pierre woman is charged after an incident police say involved a knife. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says officers were dispatched Saturday around 7:40 am to the 1800 block of East Park Street for a report of a possible assault. Upon arrival, Pelle says officers met with the victim who indicated that an argument had taken place and the suspect produced a knife and pointed it at the victim. The victim was not injured by the knife. The suspect was identified by police as 41 year-old Jennifer Oxner of Pierre. Oxner was transported to the Hughes County Jail on a charge of Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence. Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault is a Class Three felony, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and/or a 30-thousand dollar fine.
