BELVIDERE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a 55 year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 90 last weekend. The incident happened Saturday morning around 2:10 am near mile marker 164, a mile east of Belvidere in Jackson County. Authorities says a 55 year-old man was driving a 2018 Chevy Silverado pickup east on the interstate when a man came from the median and got on the interstate. The Silverado driver attempted to stop but hit the pedestrian, who was killed. The driver was using a seat belt and not injured in the crash. The names of those involved are being withheld by the South Dakota Highway Patrol pending notification of involved family. The Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
