The Stanley County Buffaloes went down 21-0 with little offense, but the Buffs didn’t go quietly as Bon Homme had to fend off the Buffs with a 28-22 final score Friday afternoon in Ft. Pierre.
With a 21-0 deficit and Stanley County facing a fourth down in the red zone, the Buffs knew they had to go for it and pick up a touchdown. Broch Zeeb would find Barrett Schweitzer to make it 21-6 and the comeback would start for the Buffs early in the fourth quarter. After Bon Homme answered to make it 28-6, Zeeb would score from two yards out with the two point conversion to make it 28-14. Paxton Deal would get a 49 yard touchdown reception in the final minute and another two point conversion pulled the Buffs within six, but the onside kick would be recovered by the Cavaliers sealing its first victory of the season.
Stanley County falls to 3-1 on the season and will travel to White River next Friday to face the Tigers. Kickoff is at 7:00.
