Governors Survive Lincoln’s Rally to Defeat Patriots

The Pierre Governors would go up 2-0, but the Lincoln Patriots rallied to send it to five sets before the Governors beat the Patriots 25-22, 25-17, 9-25, 17-25 and 15-7.

The Governors were led by Abigail Kropp with 13 kills on the afternoon while Campbell Boddicker had 10. Makayla Sherwood would record two kills but had six block shots resulting in points for the Governors which helped build momentum especially in the first two set wins.

Linnea Neshiem had 16 kills for Lincoln for the match high as Lincoln never trailed in sets three in four. Pierre would not trail in the fifth set as the two teams traded points until a 6-5 lead would lead to an 11-5 advantage for the Governors.

Pierre improves to 7-2 heading into its 10 day break. Pierre returns to the court on Tuesday, September 26 in Rapid City to face the Rapid City Christian Lady Comets.
