The Pierre Governor soccer teams had to wait through a near 45 minute weather delay during the boys contest as the Pierre boys would tie the Brookings Bobcats 2-2 and the girls would win 4-0.
Brookings boys would take a first half lead 1-0, but the Governors were able to comeback after the weather delay to score twice and even up the game as they go to 2-4-2 on the season. Pierre is 0-3-1 in its last four contests.
The Governor girls would break out of their slump as they had gone winless in the last three contests and didn’t score for two straight games. Natalie Flottmeyer would score twice for the Governors as Katie Hostler would add a goal and Aly Hutchinson would score her first ever varsity goal in the Govs win. Ryann Barry had a hand in all four goals as she racked up an assist on all four goals as Pierre is now at 5-2-1.
The Governors will face Mitchell on Saturday on the road. The girls contest will be a major contest in the state as the Kernels are still undefeated. Kickoff of the girls game is at 9:00 AM and the boys game will be played at 11:00 AM at Joe Quintal Field.
