Sarringar’s First Professional Season Concludes as Canaries Swept in Playoffs

Spencer Sarringar played his first professional baseball game on the Fourth of July as he signed with the Sioux Falls Canaries. This past Saturday, his first season came to an end as the Canaries were swept by the Kansas City Monarchs in the first round of the American Association playoffs.

Sarringar was slow out of the gates at the plate, as he had just three hits in his first eight games batting just .111. However, at the turn of the month and into August, Sarringar had at least one hit in 11 of the last 13 regular season games which included an average of .368 along with four doubles and a two homer game on September 2 and driving in 10 of his 12 runs. Sarringar would also go 1-3 with a double in the second playoff loss. Sarringar says he really settled in to his role…

Sarringar finished up his first season hitting .266 with 12 RBIs, two home runs and six doubles. Sioux Falls finished the year at 52-48 and going 0-2 in the playoffs.
