The Pierre Governor volleyball team would not have an answer to the Washington Warriors on Tuesday as the Warriors would sweep the Govs 25-9, 25-10 and 25-22.
Washington would dominate Pierre and never trail through the first two sets as Carlie Beckstrand would have nine of her 11 kills to help lead the Warriors to a big lead. However, Pierre would battle back in the third set and show some life and character, battling the tough Warriors to a near third set victory. However, the Warriors would be too much picking up the sweep and dropping the Govs to 6-2 while Washington improves to 4-1.
Reese Terwilliger had a team high seven kills while Campbell Boddicker had four. Overall, Pierre went from 58 kills in a five set win over Spearfish on Saturday to just 18 in the three set loss on Tuesday. Aleise Christopherson and Abby Kropp each would have an ace for the Govs.
