The Pierre Governors will have its second straight ESD contest tonight as the Govs will travel out to Mitchell to face the Kernels.
After just the first loss of the season for the Governors on Saturday, Pierre will have a busy week but have three winnable contests starting with the Kernels tonight and ending with Sturgis and Spearfish at home on Friday and Saturday. Tonight’s match against Mitchell, the Kernels are 2-5 having lost five in a row and the only wins of the season have been against Sturgis and Spearfish on the opening weekend of the year. In this five match losing streak, the Kernels would take the Huron Tigers to five sets, but have not won a single set in any of the other four matches. Pierre had won 10 straight sets after Saturday’s first set, but dropped the last three and are 3-1 on the year.
