South Dakota’s Business Conditions Index fell from 43-point-nine to 43-point-three in July. The survey is scaled from zero to 100 with 50 at growth neutral. New orders were at 45-point-one with production or sales at 46-point-seven. Delivery lead time is above growth neutral at 50-point-eight with inventories at 49-point-nine and employment at 43-point-zero. Manufactured exports in South Dakota expanded by seven-poin-six percent from one-point-one billion in the first half of 2022 to one-point-two billion in the same period this year. Processed food, South Dakota’s leading manufacturing export fell to three-point-four percent from 2022 to 2023.
