PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission got an unexpected off night last night. A meeting like that must be noticed 24 hours before the meeting was supposed to begin. The meeting agenda wasn’t posted until after the 5:30 pm start time Tuesday night, putting the Commission at risk of violating South Dakota open meeting laws. City officials have not indicated if or when the meeting may get made up. The Commission did properly notice a budget work session on Thursday at eight-am at the River Cities Transit meeting room. The Fort Pierre City Council is also holding a mid-week budget work session. Fort Pierre’s budget work session is set for 3:30 this afternoon at the Stanley County Courthouse Commission Room.
