The volleyball season will officially begin for the Pierre Governors this weekend after Tuesday’s match against Watertown was postponed due to the extreme heat. Pierre will face both Rapid City Stevens and Central this weekend.
It’s also the opening matches of the season for both Stevens and Central as Pierre will face Stevens on Friday and then Central on Saturday. Both Rapid City schools will face Aberdeen Central as well on the weekend. The Governors beat both Rapid City schools the last three seasons and will be trying to continue the trend into a fourth straight season.
First serve on Friday is set for 8:00 Central Time in Rapid City with Saturday’s first serve at 2:00 Central Time. Coverage of Saturday’s contest will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
