The Sully Buttes Chargers will open the season at 1-0 after sweeping the Jones County Coyotes in three sets on the road in Murdo on Tuesday.
Scores of the match were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-23 as the Coyotes would hang tough, but the Chargers get the early season strong victory. After going 0-4 over the last two seasons against Jones County, the Chargers finally have the upper hand in the first win of the season. The two teams will be at the Phillip tournament on Saturday, September 9 so there’s a chance they would meet again.
Sully Buttes will be in Gettysburg on Saturday at the Yellowstone Trail Conference Tournament while Jones County will face Bison on the road on Saturday.
