For the third straight invite, the Pierre Governor golf team would place second, this time at home on a hot Tuesday at Hillsview Golf Course.
The Watertown Arrows would beat the Govs by seven strokes with a 284 overall while Pierre would finish at three over par, 291. However, Pierre would finish with three inside the top ten. Nick Bothun would place second with a two under par, 70, four shots back of Jake Olson of Watertown for the individual win. Sawyer Sonnenschein was just one shot back of Bothun at one under par, 71 as he placed third. Luke Olson was two over par, 74 which was tied for seventh place. Lincoln Houska would score a 76 to round out the top four scoring for Pierre as Jack Bartlett would finish at 78 and Charlie Simpson at 86.
The Governor JV team would score a 359 overall and in 13th place on the day. Tate Stoeser would shoot an 88 to be the top JV finisher for Pierre while Eli Anderson and Ridge Leimbach were at 90, Jonah Sattizahn at 91, Kelen Harris 94, Aiden Howard 100, Daylen Palecek 111 and Blake Weisgram at 114.
The Governors will head to Huron on Friday to play at the Broadland Golf Course. Tee time is at 10:00 AM.
