PIERRE, (KCCR) — The name of the man Pierre police believe drowned at Down’s Marina on August 11th has been released. Captain Dusty Pelle says police still don’t know what caused 69 year-old Larry Kucker to enter the water at the Marina. Authorities were called to the 800 block of South Washington Avenue around nine pm to help search for Kucker, who had been retrieving something from his boat at the time and ended up in the water. Kucker was found unresponsive in the water. First responders performed C-P-R on Kucker until he was taken the short distance to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital where he died. Pelle says foul play is still not suspected in Kucker’s death.
