The Pierre Governor tennis team would bounce back from an 0-2 Friday to go 2-0 on Saturday and finish the weekend at .500 against four AA schools.
On Friday, Pierre would drop both matches to Harrisburg and Lincoln 6-3 and 8-1. Jocelyn Corrales and Caitlin Ott would go 1-1 in both singles and doubles as Ott would pick up a singles win against Harrisburg and then a doubles win together in doubles flight two. Corrales would get the lone win in singles flight one against Lincoln. Genevieve Oxford in singles flight six would win against Harrisburg.
Then on Saturday, Pierre would defeat Washington 7-2 before sweeping Roosevelt 9-0. Both Corrales and Ott in singles flight one and two and then doubles flight two would go undefeated for the day, as would Ella Fisk in singles flight three, Bailey Jessen in singles flight four and then the two would team up in doubles flight one to pick up two wins.
Pierre is now 3-6 on the season in duals. The Governors will travel to Rapid City on Thursday and Friday for a tournament out west. Thursday Pierre will face Brandon Valley at 2:00 Mountain Time.
