Pierre Man Facing Multiple Charges Following Friday Arrest

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Pierre man is facing multiple charges after his arrest late Friday afternoon. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says an officer attempted to perform a traffic stop around 4:15 pm in the 1100 block of North Garfield Avenue. During the traffic stop, multiple violations were identified as well as a possible active warrant for the driver, 33 year-old Bradley BlackBird of Pierre. Pelle says as the officer attempted to detain BlackBird, BlackBird pulled away from the officer and started acting aggressively toward the officer. BlackBird continue to resist the officers efforts but was finally detained. BlackBird was taken to the Hughes County Jail on charges including Driving on a Suspended License; Expired License Plates; Failure to Maintain Insurance; Resisting Arrest, Speeding and Simple Assault against a Law Enforcement Officer. BlackBird was pulled over for going 57 in a 35 mile an hour zone.
