Pierre has Season Opening Two Day Trip to Sioux Falls Area

Starting today, the Pierre Governor golf team will be in the Sioux Falls area to go through two rounds opening the season. Pierre will play at the Brandon Golf Course and then at Bakker Crossing.

The Governors are returning their six varsity members for a third straight season as the group are just now juniors and still have two years of eligibility. The likes of Sawyer Sonnenschein, Jack Bartlett, Luke Olson, Nick Bothun, Charlie Simpson and Lincoln Houska return looking to compete for a team state title and all six are well within the reach of an individual title. However, the focus is on the Brandon Golf Course today and Bakker Crossing tomorrow to take the first step forward into the 2023 season. A total of 17 schools will be competing over the next two days. All schools are AA which means it’s basically a state tournament preview. Tiffany Benham, head coach of the Governors said it last week, the Govs want to compete with the best every day which includes the first tournament…

Tee time in Brandon is at 1:00 today with Tuesday’s tee time at 8:00 AM on Tuesday at Bakker Crossing.
