The Pierre Governor tennis team would pick up a win on Saturday over Spearfish but would fall to Yankton, Rapid City Christian and Huron over the weekend starting the season at 1-3.
Pierre would drop the first match of the weekend to Yankton 5-4 before falling to Rapid City Christian 9-0. Then on Saturday the Govs would open the day with a 5-4 win over Spearfish and then finisht he weekend dropping a 7-2 decision to Huron.
Jocelyn Corrales and Caitlin Ott would go 3-1 in doubles flight two over the weekend beating Yankton, Huron and Spearfish. Bailey Jessen in singles flight four and Genevieve Oxford in singles flight six would each go 2-2.
Pierre will be off until Friday when they travel to Sioux Falls to face Harrisburg, Lincoln, Washington and Roosevelt over both Friday and Saturday.
