North Dakota State Looks to Reload Heading into 2023 Season

The North Dakota State Bison are set to begin the season the first Saturday in September at US Bank Stadium, the home of the Minnesota Vikings against Eastern Washington. The Bison embargo another journey looking for its tenth FCS national title since 2011.

Matt Entz heads into his fifth season as the Bison head coach and has already won two national championships, in 2019 and 2021. After failing to win the title last year, he says there’s a lot of excitement around the team…

Entz says it was an enjoyable spring from the players returning for this season…

One of the returns from the last couple of years who has been shining is Pierre’s Grey Zabel. This will be Zabel’s fourth year at North Dakota State, but will still have eligibility with Covid after the year concludes. Zabel played in all 15 games last season for the Bison.

Entz has brought in a new defensive coordinator in Jason Petrino who previously was with Southern Illinois. Entz and Petrino know each other well prior to Pretino taking the job in January and Entz says he was very familiar with his defense and philosophy being in the league with him…

North Dakota State will open the season on Saturday, September 2 in Minneapolis at US Bank Stadium with a 2:30 kickoff against Eastern Washington.
