Pierre Tennis Turns Page after State Championship

The Pierre Governor tennis team is set for the season, but will look different compared to the year’s past teams with just two returning from last year’s team. Jocelyn Corrales and Caitlin Ott return from last year’s state championship team.

The two won the third flight doubles championship as they were one of four flights in total to win an individual flight state championship. Corrales also won the singles flight four state championship. Megan Bauck, into her third year as the head coach of the Governors, says they will still be an older group, but with less experience and she’s excited for this team…

Bauck says these girls know what it takes to win…

For tennis, they do challenge matches to earn their sports and flights for the team and Bauck says there’s a lot of competition for all of those open spots…

The Governors start their season this week as they will be at home on Friday and Saturday playing four teams over the two days at Griffin Park in Pierre.
