Motorcyclist Killed In Haakon County Crash

MIDLAND, (KCCR) — A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Haakon County. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened Friday, just after 12:30 pm, 23 miles north of Midland on South Dakota Highway 34. The preliminary investigation of the crash indicates a 2005 Harley Davidson with a 64 year-old male driver was traveling west on Highway 34 when the man lost control of the bike and entered the south ditch. The driver was not wearing a helmet. He was taken by ambulance to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre where he was pronounced dead. The name of the driver is not being released pending notification of family.
