Pierre Girls Soccer Looks to Build off Quarterfinal Run

The Pierre Governor girls soccer team will be looking to build once again this season. The Govs two years ago had a home playoff game and then last season had a win in the first round to reach the quarterfinals. Now, they look to surpass the mark and make a deep run in the playoffs.

Pierre will have just two seniors on this year’s team as Ryann Barry and Brianna Sargent will be the leaders of this year’s team. Kira Swenson is into her third year as the head coach of the Governors and says this is a great experienced lineup with a lot of returning players…

Barry, who led the team in goals and assists in her junior season says she wants the offense to be even better this year…

Sargent finished second in points behind Barry in her junior campaign says even though there’s only two seniors she likes the potential of this team…

Ireland Templeton was the goalkeeper last season but won’t be this year and will be back in the field at the center back position. She says she can’t even explain how much she loves to be back in the field…

The Governors will play Douglas in Box Elder on Friday, August 11 to begin the season. Kick off is set for 5:00 Central Time.
