PIERRE (KCCR) — A 28 year-old Pierre man will serve two years in federal prison for having a gun when he wasn’t allowed. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says Devin Rosenblum pleaded guilty in March to a charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Pearson. The South Dakota Board of Pardons and Paroles issued an absconder warrant in October of 2022 for Rosenblum. The Dakota Territory Fugitive Task Force tracked Rosenblum down on November 1st of 2022 in Pierre. Authorities found a bag belonging to Rosenblum that had a Ruger pistol inside. Rosenblum told authorities he took the pistol from his roommate and that he wasn’t permitted to have a firearm with him because of prior felony convictions. Rosenblum will serve three years of supervised release after his prison term. He also must forfeit possession of the pistol. The case was investigated by local, state and federal authorities including Pierre Police; Hughes County Sheriff; state D-C-I, Marshal’s Service and A-T-F.
