Central Plains Regional Begins Today in Rapid City

For the second straight year, the Central Plains Regional will be in Rapid City as Post 22 will be the host team again and Harrisburg Gold will join them out of South Dakota.

Harrisburg Gold would win the state championship this past Saturday in Yankton and advance to its first Regional as they open up with St. Michael out of Minnesota in the 4:30 Central Time game. Rapid City Post 22 will face Elkhorn-Waterloo, Nebraska in the final game of the first day which is slated for a 7:15 Central Time start. The other two matchups are Williston, North Dakota taking on Lincoln, Nebraska and Fargo, North Dakota taking on Edan Prairie, Minnesota.

The earliest Harrisburg and Post 22 could potentially play each other in the tournament would be on day three.

Last season, Omaha, Nebraska won the Central Plains Regional with a 7-4 score of Millard West, Nebraska to advance to the Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina.
