SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Premier college and high school golfers from the region will compete and showcase their skills at the sixth annual Sanford Golf Futures Tour presented by Sanford Sports Academy.
The two-day competition continues today at the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort. This invitation-only event is divided into boys and girls and college women and men. The 115 competitors consist of multiple state champions as well as golfers from nine states and 19 colleges including NCAA Division I and II schools.
Pierre is being represented by three individuals as Sawyer Sonnenschein, Jack Bartlett and Nicklaus Bothun will all be playing into its second day. At the end of day one both Sonnenschein and Bothun are inside the top ten with Sonnenschein at even par through 18 tied for third place, a shot back from first and then Bothun tied for seventh at plus two, 74. Bartlett is only four shots back of Bothun and six shots off the lead tied for 23rd at a 78.
Bartlett will tee off at 11:00 AM as Bothun will tee off at 11:40 and Sonnenschein at 12:20.
