PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting will start in special business with a proclamation for Professional Engineer’s Day. Commissioners will give consideration to approval of a five-item consent calendar. The calendar includes the claims, minutes from last week’s meeting, setting a public hearing for two alcohol licenses, a raffle request and a new hire. A public hearing is scheduled for 5:45 pm for an airport terminal lease for Budget/Rover and Capital Auto Rentals/Avis. Two items of new business are on the agenda. Commissioners will consider approval of a request to purchase three lift station generators for locations at Pierre Regional Airport, Hillsview Golf Course and Winchester and will get a presentation on the 2024 city budget. Commissioners will end the meeting by presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm. The meeting is open to the public.
